Introduction to Long-Term Athlete Development (Course Retired)

This course has been designed to help you create fun, safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate quality sport and physical literacy experiences.  You will learn how to apply the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework to realize the three pillars of Sport for Life: Physical Literacy, Excellence, and Active for Life.  By the end of the course, you will:

  • Be familiar with the Long-Term Athlete Development Framework and the primary objectives of each stage of development
  • Recognize the characteristics of quality sport and physical activity programs that develop Physical Literacy, Excellence, and Active for Life
  • Know how to find additional resources to analyze gaps in current programs

This course is presented in three sections.  When you have completed the entire course and passed each learning assessment, you will be able to download/print a Certificate of Completion and register for NCCP professional development points.
