This workshop will train community coaches and leaders on the specific needs and interests of young girls (aged 6 to 12) in order to better engage them in sport and physical activity. The intent of the training is to ensure that physical activity, sport, and recreation opportunities are delivered in a way that best meets the needs of all program participants–with specific consideration around what it takes to get and keep girls involved in active pursuits. The training will increase coaches’/leaders’ knowledge of instructional techniques that are more responsive to the needs and interests of girls aged 6 to 12.
