Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of workshop completion and one National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Professional Development (PD) point (if applicable).

Physical activity is a lot more fun when you are physically literate. Now more than ever, physical literacy is being recognized as an important component of best practices in the sport, recreation, health and education sectors within Canada. Unfortunately, not everyone knows or understands exactly what physical literacy is.
Through this expert-led video module, participants will explore the core components of physical literacy, examine its relationship to health and lifelong participation in physical activity, and learn how to support its development in others.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define physical literacy and describe its key components
- Explain the relationship between physical literacy and health
- Identify factors that influence the development of physical literacy
- Recognize the role they play in supporting physical literacy across the lifespan
- Examine the use of physical literacy assessment tools (such as the PLAY tools)
- Identify resources and strategies to support the development of physical literacy in various settings
